Events and Festivals
Located near the Flash Leisure Centre, Theatr Clera offers a packed programme of plays, music, children's entertainment and poetic performances. Events are also occasionally held at the Royal Oak Hotel, Welshpool Town Hall, Flash Leisure Centre and the Raven Inn.

Film buffs will enjoy the Pola Cinema, sited in a typical 1930's style cinema. Open all week, here you can watch the latest film releases on one of the two screens.

Welshpool Town Centre offers a choice of over 10 pubs and a nightclub.

The summer festivities kick off in May Spring Bank Holiday with the Welshpool Carnival. A traditional parade of floats through the town centre and fun & games at the Recreation Fields.

June and July looks forward to an exciting double-bill of events beginning with the Cambrian Transport Festival when hundreds of enthusiasts descend upon Welshpool, to show off their impressive and immaculately maintained vintage vehicles. The increasingly popular Country and Western Music Festival follows, when some leading Indian dance troupes and Country & Western acts will be performing.

In August take a short trip out of Welshpool to Llanfair Caereinion where the ever popular Agricultural Show reinforces the areas traditional rural roots.

Other notable events include the Powis Wood Fair, held in September and the Welshpool Winter Festival in December, when the streets become alive with music and market stalls. Local shows are held at Guilsfield, Berriew and Montgomery.
