Welshpool Garden Club & Horticultural Society - founded over 100 years ago, meets once a month throughout the year. We are a friendly group of keen and enthusiastic gardeners and have a variety of related interests and gardening skills at all levels; from plant collectors to organic gardeners from designers to florists.
Experts to beginners, we all share a passion for plants; ornamental and edible! And between us we can solve almost any garden problem.. or at least there is no shortage of advice!
We have some interesting and knowledgeable speakers, plant swaps and local garden visits as well as occasional day trips to more distant gardens or gardening events.
We have 2 annual shows, Spring and Summer at which members compete in a good humoured way with entries from single flowers to full blown arrangements, baskets of fruit to bottles of home-made wine!
We meet on the third Thursday evening of every month at the Corn Exchange in Welshpool Town Hall, we open the doors at 7.00 for plant swaps, sales and chat. Our speakers start at 7.30pm and tea & coffee is served after the talk.
Over the summer our meetings are swapped for local garden visits, sometimes to members' gardens, providing very pleasant, social evenings.
Our annual fee is currently £6.00, making our club excellent value. Why not come and see for yourself, your first visit will be free!
