'Where Wales Begins'
Powysland Museum
Samples of the heritage of Welshpool and area can be viewed at the Powysland Museum, housed in a beautifully converted former warehouse on the Montgomery Canal.

The displays illustrate the history and development of life in Montgomeryshire from the earliest prehistoric settlers to the 20th century population.

An exhibition of agricultural tools, stockfarming implements and dairying equipment, reflects the fundamental part played by farming in the growth of the local economy and society.
